Family discussions lead to conversation regarding how you did what when it came to baby. When it was time to give the bottle and take away the nipple. When you should start to potty train. How one child took right to the potty seat and the other child did not.
Once again I will point out differences and similarities for you to see.

The seat that snaps into the holder in the car prevents any damage to a child when driving. As the child is not being held by mother it is a good idea to give them their baby blankets to cuddle with and have the same sense of security they feel in the crib.
4) Car blanket seats are perfect for the car although the following warning should be taken very seriously in regard to keeping the baby in the seat: - quote"In 2003, the American Academy of Pediatrics suggested that infants "should spend minimal time in car seats (when not a passenger in a vehicle) or other seating that maintains supine positioning" to avoid developing positional plagiocephaly ("flat head syndrome"). Around the early '90 car seats began to become popular and over the years many countries have made their use mandatory.
Years ago we did have seats that clipped over the back of the seat. From experience I know they were not near as safe as what we have today. There were no laws to stop a parent from just setting the baby on the seat and driving off. Today, we are legally protecting our children.
4) Belly bands are still used as in the past. A band is placed around the baby and tied loosely to keep the cord in place. Carefully wash around the area and then replace the band. In about ten days the cord will fall off. Nothing else special is done.
5) The Tooth Fairy is alive and well. Your toddler is wrapped in their toddler bedding awaiting the tooth fairy. Under the pillow is the old tooth. The fairy comes before dawn bringing a coin or two to place under the pillow and remove the tooth. Snug in their baby blankets they know a gift will arrive before morning. This custom has been going on for eons of years. I see no change in this wonderful way of rewarding your child for growing up just a little bit.
Changing times and changing products will always invade our environment. Keeping an open mind and using common sense will guide us to care safely for our young. Many new designs save us time in this ever fluctuating world, use them wisely.
